Hearst is a town of about 6,000 people. If you are
wanting to get away from the busy, city life and just want to relax, Hearst is the
place to go.
From the end of May to the beginning of October there is
a "Cafe Car" which serves light breakfasts and light lunches on the train.
Breakfast options include muffins, cereal, juice and coffee. Lunch includes
options such as submarine sandwiches, hot dogs, along with munchies such as potato
chips, soda pop and a limited variety of alcoholic beverages. Passengers are
not permitted to bring on alcoholic beverages for consumption on the train.
You can bring your own food on the train as well. During the month of January
and February there is food service, but it is wise to bring your own food.
There have been times that the train is busy and there is a shortage of food for
customers.
If you make a package reservation with Catalina Motel, they
will reserve your train tickets for yourself and your snow machine, reserve your
motel room in Sault Ste. Marie at Catalina Motel, your room in Hearst at the Companion, at Northern Lights in Wawa and Centre Inn in Hornepayne and Half-Way Haven, between
Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie. Catalina will also custom make a package
if you have other ideas. Just call us at 1-800-561-9810
